• 2020-2021 - A School Year Unlike Any Other

Throughout the summer months, the situation surrounding COVID-19 has continued to change at a rapid pace. During the entire planning process for our return to school, District 91 has kept the safety of our students, staff and families at the forefront. In July, as active cases continued to rise both locally and statewide, District 91, in cooperation with our teachers, made the difficult choice to move to a remote learning model for the first quarter of our school year.

To that end, there will be no in-person instruction during this time. Please know this decision was not made lightly, but with the safety of our students, staff and community in mind.

All students will begin the first day of school on August 25 participating in remote learning.  Attendance will be taken each day.  During this time, District 91 administrators, teachers and staff will report to district facilities to focus on the education of your children. This will allow our staff to utilize building/classroom resources and instructional tools to provide students with structured and engaging learning opportunities.  At mid-term (end of September), the district will reevaluate and determine if students will be able to return to school for in-person learning.

To assist families in preparing for remote learning, we have built a Remote Learning channel on the District 91 website at Remote Learning Channel.  This channel includes a remote learning guide, sample remote learning schedules for all grade levels, remote learning expectations, forms and digital learning tools.

I realize the challenges that our families face during this unprecedented time.  I want to thank each of you for your continued understanding and support as we work to keep our students, staff, families and community safe.
