About District 91
Forest Park Public School District 91 is a diverse, urban fringe district of less than 1,000 students. Our students are educated in two primary schools (grades PreK – 2), two intermediate schools (grades 3-5) and one middle school (grades 6-8). Students in our district enjoy small class sizes with all of our elementary schools having a class size cap of twenty students. The pupil-to-teacher ratio is 14:1, offering our students the opportunity for more individualized instruction and our staff the ability to differentiate instruction effectively. We offer a very comprehensive curriculum to meet the needs of all students. Students are able to explore several subjects that expand their knowledge and prepare them for the 21st Century.
Each of our school buildings have been recently remodeled and updated to ensure that our students are educated in a safe, nurturing learning environment. All of our schools have updated technology including one-to-one Chromebooks for each child. Students in grades 3-5 are able to take the Chromebooks home to expand their learning opportunities beyond the regular school day.
For more demographic and other information about our district and schools please refer to the Illinois School Report Card. The Illinois Report Card for each school is located on each school’s link.
Forest Park is a diverse community of approximately 15,000 residents. The village enjoys a thriving downtown commerce area with trendy shops, excellent restaurants, and popular night-life spots. The Madison Avenue area boasts some of the most popular and highly-rated dining and entertainment establishments in the Chicago metropolitan area. The very active Forest Park Chamber of Commerce sponsors several fun and family oriented activities each year including the Summerfest, St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Madison Ave. Music Fest, and annual Holiday Walk.
In addition to the thriving downtown area, Forest Park has an outstanding Park District that provides several activities for youth and adults in the community and operates a wonderful community pool in the village’s largest park.
Forest Park is also fortunate to have several other community agencies that enhance our community including The Community Center that provides several services to residents of Forest Park including day care and support for families in need. The West Suburban YMCA also provides many activities and services for residents in Forest Park. Recently, several community agencies, including District 91, Forest Park Police Department, Park District of Forest Park, Community Center and Forest Park Public Library, banded together to develop a community-wide PBIS initiative which will bring a consistent, positive approach to dealing with youth behavior in the community.
With big city access and small town charm, Forest Park is an ideal location in which to live, work and grow.
