• Board of Education Hires First Woman as Superintendent

    The Forest Park School District Board of Education has named Elizabeth Alvarez, Ph.D. as the next Superintendent of Schools starting July 1, 2021 to succeed Dr. Louis Cavallo, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

    Dr. Alvarez is a bilingual, urban school leader who brings multicultural awareness, gender sensitivity, and ethical appreciation to her leadership.  Dr. Alvarez holds a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).  She also holds two master's degrees, one in curriculum and instruction from UIC and another instructional leadership from the American College of Education.
