National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Holds Annual Walk-A-Thon

On Thursday, October 25, 2018, members of the Forest Park Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) held their annual Walk-A-Thon to help raise money for chapter membership dues.  The students walked from Forest Park Middle School to Betsy Ross Primary Elementary School and back again.

Established in 1929, NJHS is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students.  To be considered for membership in NJHS at Forest Park Middle School a student must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher, complete 15 hours of community service, submit a Letter of Recommendation, and complete an essay about why they want to serve with the organization.  Currently, 24 students are members of the Forest Park Middle School chapter of NJHS.

The NJHS chapter is involved in a number of worthwhile events and activities throughout the year including holiday carolin, supporting organizations such as Misericordia Heart of Mercy and the March of Dimes, and also attending a Cubs game at the end of the year.  For more information about the Forest Park Middle School chapter of NJHS please contact Patricia Allocco at
