Family and Community Engagement (FACE)

Welcome to the Family and Community Engagement Department of Forest Park School District! Our mission is to foster strong, collaborative partnerships between schools, families, and the community, enhancing the educational experience of every student. We focus on supporting schools in their engagement opportunities for parents and families, ensuring a sense of belonging and pride in our distict.

What We Do:

School Support: We work closely with schools to create and enhance engagement opportunities, helping to build meaningful connections between families, teachers, and the school community.
Resources and Support: Our department provides a wealth of resources and support services tailored to meet the diverse needs of our families. From navigating the school system to accessing community resources, we're here to help.
Programs and Workshops: Through the D91 Parent University, we offer a variety of programs and workshops designed to empower parents and families with the knowledge and skills they need to support their children's education.
District-Wide Events: We provide district-wide engagement opportunities, including our major events like the Back-to-School event and the Forest Park Education Summit. These events are designed to bring the community together and foster a strong school-family partnership.
District Communications: We handle communications ensuring open, honest, and effective engagement with students, families, teachers, staff, and the broader community. For the 2024-2025 school year, we will continue to use a multi-channel approach, including email/newsletters, our FPSD91 app(ROOMS), social media(Facebook, Instagram, YouTube), and website communications, to keep everyone informed and involved.
D91 Pride: We coordinate spirit wear sales for all schools, promoting D91 pride at every level. Show your support and school spirit by joining us in celebrating our district!

How We Do It:

Through collaboration our Engagement Ensemble acts as the bridge between the school, families, and the community, fostering a supportive learning environment. Organizing workshops for parents, supporting communication between schools and families, and connecting families with valuable community resources. We offer accessible resources and guidance to help families effectively engage with their child's education.
