Excitement is in the air as we gear up for the 2024 Scripps Spelling Bee! This annual tradition of showcasing our students' spelling prowess is upon us once again. Last year, we were thrilled and proud to have Emmie Whitebone represent Forest Park at the Scripps National Championship. It's now time to prepare for this year's journey, starting right in our classrooms.
Here's the Roadmap to Spelling Success:
Classroom Battles: January and early February will see the buzzing of words as our students compete in classroom and grade-level qualifying rounds.
Grade Champions Emerge: By February 8, 2024, we will have our grade level champions (grades 3-8) ready to represent their classes.
District-Level Excitement: The District Scripps Spelling Bee is scheduled for February 15, 2024, at Grant-White. A perfect opportunity to cheer on our young spellers!
Regional Rounds: The West40 Cook Scripps Spelling Bee takes place on March 5, 2024, at E.F. Lindop School in Broadview, followed by the Regional Spelling Bee at the same venue on March 26, 2024.
