Career Exploration Day at Betsy Ross! Thank you to the caregivers and community members who shared their passions and experiences with our Shining Stars. We had scientist, ice sculptor, chef, handywoman, hair stylist, sports professional and MORE!
Our 8th grade scholars made it to Washington DC and are taking on the city after an early morning send off. We can't wait to see and hear about everything they get to experience!
It was Career Exploration Day at Field Stevenson and our Sharks got to learn from some interesting and engaging caregivers and community members. We had a firefighter, director of a library, handywoman, wheelchair basketball coach, human resources professionals and more! Future Shark and Panther Nights are coming up this month and next! These 'transition nights' are for families who will have an incoming 3rd grader at Field Stevenson and incoming 6th grader at FPMS and are a great way to check out the schools, meet principals and get a first rate tour from some special student guides. Spring Fling 2026 was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Thank you to the Forest Park PTO for putting on an event for all ages on Friday, April 17th. Approx. 300 people attended the event that hosted bounce houses, a performance from Physics Dimensions, food from local vendors, a silent disco, photo booth and MORE. This annual event is always something to look forward to our families
🐛Students at Betsy Ross had some creepy, crawly visitors this week from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum! 🐛 These young scientists learned about bugs in our environment by drawing their bodies, touching and some brave participants event let them crawl on arms and hands!
At last night’s FPMS Poetry Slam, student voices took center stage as they shared powerful, personal work. Thank you to all who participated for your vulnerability and creativity in telling your stories.

All 8th grade students have poems published in a book that was available for families at last night's event. Thank you to ELA teacher, Mrs. Ciardullo for preparing our students and Ms. Huff, Betsy Ross Principal, for MCing the event.

🏐 FPMS hosted the 2nd Annual Community Cup Volleyball Game on March 27, taking on a Community All-Star team made up of local partners from the Village Hall, Police Dept, Library, Park District and Community Center.
While the Panthers fell just short, it was a fun-filled afternoon with exciting gameplay and entertaining intermission activities—including staff scooter races and Hungry, Hungry Hippo!

Ms. Moore-Rounds' Preschool Class hosted caregivers to their Junior Fashion Show! This red carpet event ended their clothing unit where students learned about careers that require a uniform, how to care for and clean your clothes and personal style. It was a Vogue Magazine worthy event!
🏅 Betsy Ross Shining Stars welcomed four-time Para-Olympic gold medalist Brody Roybal for an inspiring visit on March 27!
Students proudly shared their own medals, held Brody’s, asked thoughtful questions, and took photos. He spoke about perseverance, teamwork, and being proud of who you are—on and off the ice.

The Prairie Research Institute Traveling Science Center stopped at Field Stevenson yesterday! Students got to experience and learn about native plants, animals and the unique environment that makes Illinois. Thank you to teacher Ms. Hawkinson for bringing this experience to our Sharks!
