Food Insecurity

As many families are feeling the impact of recent changes to SNAP benefits beginning November 1, it’s important to know that help is available. Below is a list of local organizations and community resources offering food assistance and support to those in need.

Also, at Forest Park School District 91, we believe in the strength of our community. Together, we can help ensure that every neighbor has what they need. These are trusted organizations and initiatives you can support to make a positive local impact.

  • Howard Mohr Community Center Food Pantry - 7640 Jackson Blvd

    • Monetary donations can be made here - https://forestpark.merchanttransact.com/MunicipalPayments

    • Food items can be donated Monday-Friday from 8am-6:00pm. Items in high demand are pasta/pasta sauce, boxed mashed potatoes, stuffing, jiffy cornbread, canned items (fruits, vegetables, soups, tuna, chicken) boxed mac and cheese, boxed breakfast items, snacks, ramen, peanut butter, jelly.

  • Kiwanis Club of Forest Park - Bushels of Food Drive 

    • Donate non-perishable items at Food Baskets set up in Forest Park including O’Sullivan’s, Twisted Cookie, and MacDaddy Salon

    • Community Food Drive on November 15 - residents can place non-perishable food items on their front porch to be picked up. Donations will go to the Forest Park Pantry. Want to get more involved - email kiwanisclubfp@gmail.com
